| Our Role |
“The more you do of what you’re doing the more you get of what you’ve got”Often our clients know (and tell us that they know!) what the solutions to the issues they are facing are. The solutions we implement are often not unique or technically difficult – (and we don’t pretend to be re-inventing the wheel - we constantly come across the same issues in many organisations). So why are we required at all? We have a number of advantages when working with any organisation – the first one being the advantage of “not belonging” - we are not party to any hidden agendas – only to the agreed goals of the programme. Secondly, we act as change agents or catalysts - we are retained exclusively to undertake a particular programme of change and performance improvement in an organisation – we do not have a host of other responsibilities and hence we are not sidetracked into other areas and neglect our primary purpose. Thirdly, we can ask blindingly obvious questions and constantly challenge the status quo in a way that permanent staff members cannot (Why? Why? Why?). We never accept “because this is the way it’s always been done” as an adequate answer for any activity. We preach the concept that “the more you do of what you’re doing the more you get of what you’ve got” constantly and encourage people to look beyond what’s currently being done to see how things can be done better. We can challenge the “this business is different” objection that is often aired when arguing for the status quo. Finally, our track record in achieving results and our extensive experience in and exposure to other organisations means we have seen and implemented solutions that yield substantial performance improvements quickly. |
